Relevant Coursework

The images shown above were captured in my introductory biology lab while viewing specimens under light microscopy. Learning microscopy techniques has been essential for my success in higher-level biology coursework, including microbiology lab and parasitology lab. This is also a skill that will be necessary for future bench-top research.

Science Coursework

As a biological sciences major, a large majority of my coursework has been focused on developing a strong understanding of the life sciences, including biology, chemistry, and physics, through lecture and laboratory courses. Through these courses, I've developed the ability to analyze and interpret data and clearly communicate scientific information.

The assignments featured here have been drawn from science courses, including Marine Communications, Introductory Physics Lab, and Introductory Biology Labs I and II. They demonstrate my ability to communicate scientific information through written work and data visualization.

Humanities Coursework

In addition to my scientific coursework, my humanities coursework has strengthened my written and spoken communication skills while fostering creativity. These courses challenged me to integrate pop culture and personal interests with my academic work to communicate complex theories and terminology more effectively.

Courses such as Sociology and Homelessness in Our Communities also included a service-learning component, allowing me to connect course content, real-world experiences, and broader societal issues.  I had the opportunity to volunteer for coaching youth soccer through my sociology course, and thorugh my Homelessnes in Our Communities course I worked in a group of three to collect monetary donations and toys for a christmas event for a local youth homeless shelter.

The assignments featured here have been drawn from humanities courses such as sociology, film & poetry, and homelessness in our community.

Study Abroad

The summer following my sophomore year,  I engaged in a Summer study abroad program, LSU in the British Isles.

Through this program, I learned calculus II while traveling throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England. While exploring cities like London and Edinburgh, I built friendships with people from all around the world and gained insight into their cultural norms. While visiting historical landmarks, I heard various perspectives on global and historical events and learned how context can shift different narratives.
